Yours To Break CD Cover and Prince Edward Island, Canada
Honouring Koady Chaisson
The CD “Yours To Break” arrived early December 2019. Wintergreen, Elmira, Mystery Cove the musicality, harmonies, lyrics, passion, love joy– so special so unique. And then it came out of the CD player in the car. Until a few weeks ago we heard the Wintergreen track, Koady’s banjo the theme in the introduction to a New Zealand TV series Under The Vines. That was only a few days before January 6, 2022. On January 7th I went on facebook to learn more about The East Pointers, and read this post fromRock The Boat Music Festival … “This morning we learned of the passing of the Juno award winning banjo and tenor guitar player from The East Pointers, Koady Chaisson”. I felt gutted. I read and re-read all the passionate posts about this beloved young man aged 37. I share the sentiments in their post … “Our hearts go out to Koady’s family, friends, band mates Tim Chaisson and Jake Charron, as well as all of his loyal fans ”.
As I listened more and more to the CD, I was drawn in by all the tracks – here is one you – let Koady’s banjo rock you …
If You’re Still in I’m In
I can dream forever And I can dream my life awake On the corner of salvation At the crossroads of escape
Tell me where you’re going Tell me where you wanna be And is there something missing Is there room in there for me
Trials and tribulations High hopes and false starts Never is a rough time And life can break your heart
We can settle in On a high, warm wind No good comes from hanging back To see what happens
With the hearts of heroes And wings like doves And we can fly away Break through the clouds above
Come again bright days Come again, come again When you’re good to go, I’m following If you’re still in, I’m in
Waitin’ on the sidelines Weary but ready to ascend Lovers scattered in the gray area Life ^frenemy^
Remember to remember It’s ’cause you’re scared it means you care I’m a ship in the mist You’re an eagle in the air
Lonely ocean feelings And sad seaways Sonny was a dreamer Who couldn’t get away
With the hearts of heroes And wings like doves And we can fly away Break through the clouds above
Come again bright days Come again, come again When you’re good to go, I’m following If you’re still in, I’m in
If you’re still in, I’m in
(Oooh)
And we can settle in On a high, warm wind No good comes from hanging back To see what happens
With the hearts of heroes And wings like doves And we can fly away Break through the clouds above
Come again bright days Come again, come again When you’re good to go, I’m following If you’re still in, I’m
With the hearts of heroes And wings like doves And we can fly away Break through the clouds above
Come again bright days Come again, come again When you’re good to go, I’m following If you’re still in, I’m in
If you’re still in, I’m in
Come again bright days Come again, come again When you’re good to go, I’m following

And a January 9th post from Brent Chaisson, here with his approval:
“I’ve always had an admiration for isolated music tracks whether it be vocals, guitar, etc.. there’s something very special about them. I was blessed a few years ago to record the audio on this video. Today, I went back to the audio and isolated Koady’s banjo track and synced back up to the video… and it’s absolutely stunning. What a beast he was on the banjo.. no one can play like the Koadster. He even makes time for a sip of coffee at one point!
