I’m in the talons of a phoenix rising over the earth,
ground becoming smaller as silence amplifies.
Over rainbows of apprehension,
I find darkness appealing seeing stars at a distance,
don’t feel too far away from light.
Cherishing nothing but a moment of loose thought,
unmovable yet free to saunter around
with no gravity to make it stop,
tragic if it does, for a part of me would be lost.
Secure in the clutches of this fiery beast,
touches of fear being cooled by the flames of passion,
purified by it carrying me away from mediocrity.
I feel protected, no longer measured by people’s expectations,
I can live and never miss a step,
So don’t have to worry about stumbling.
In the talons of a phoenix rising over the earth,
I have rest in knowing I’ll never touch the planet again.
