1 Help me! Lord, my Rock, hear my plea!
Listen! Give me your guarantee!
If your hearing is depraved,
I will go down to the grave.
Without your reply, I might as well die!
2 Can you hear me crying out?
For your mercy I do shout.
I surrender before your mercy seat.
I pray Lord, hear me weep!
3 Don’t drag me away with the nefarious.
Those hypocrites are so iniquitous.
Talk sweetly to their neighbours, they’re such a farce,
while holding evil against them, in their rotten hearts.
4 Give them everything they deserve.
Don’t hold back, no reserve!
Pay back according to their deeds.
5 Since they don’t care or believe,
in you and what you have accomplished.
Flatten them like a building being demolished.
6 Praise God, who heard my plea! My call for mercy.
7 You’re my strength and shield,
protecting me from harm.
My heart trusts you, no need for an alarm.
I break into song, jump with joy,
in praise I raise my arms!
8 You will be my strength augmentation,
anointed stronghold of my salvation!
9 Save your bequest, let none ever fall.
Like a shepherd, carrying, leading, forevermore!
